University Malaysia Pahang’s Master of Business Administration Program is customized to serve you, working professionals that have decided to launch or propel their professional careers in becoming competent managers. The program integrates theory, real-world practice and personal experience to develop leaders who can address complex problems, both systematically and creatively, to improve business and management practice. There are two options that you can choose either in-campus or off-campus. The MBA program in-campus aims to produce business leaders in engineering and technology, while the off-campus provides competencies of national bio-based technology workforce with better understanding in business aspects. Tailoring our graduates with the needs of present job market, our curriculums are designed to meet the standards set by Ministry of Education, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. Operating from our campus is Gambang, MBA is the right choice in where the curriculum focus on enhancing the capabilities of our students to become highly competent professionals and future global players.

UMP MBA has received full school membership by The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21) on 2nd of March 2016. This full membership is for business schools striving to provide the high quality of management education.

Leading Business in Engineering and Technology

  • Mission: The program nurtures holistic graduates who are skillful to excel in the competitive and globalized marketplace based upon the business and technological knowledge.

    1. As the UMP vision is to be “A Distinguished Technological University”, hence this program focuses on developing competent and responsive managers based on a technical competency basis. This is done by providing the faculty members with industrial experience. This includes faculty members who have the expertise on business engineering, engineering management or technology management. Having the three areas of expertise makes the program unique and distinguished from other universities.
    2. The MBA program strives to excel in both teaching and research equivalently. This supports the faculty’s mission to provide enriching teaching and learning experience through creative convergence of business and technology.

    By integrating the theory, real world practice and personal experience, it is aimed to prepare graduates to be competent and charismatic managers. The MBA program selects the best and the most important subjects to achieve this aim. Hence, this will produce distinguished managers, who are creative and innovative, possess business acumen for their career, and capable of leading business in engineering and technology.

    2.   Theory-practice application: Graduates are able to transfer their knowledge and experience from classroom to workplace and vice versa.

    (D)  Create solutions by applying bioeconomy disciplines. (Bioeconomy)

  • Students who would like to apply for Masters Degree Program by Coursework (Full-time/Part-time) must meet the following conditions:
    (1) A bachelor’s degree with minimum CPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the University Senate or
    (2) A bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CPA of 2.50 can be accepted

    subject to a minimum of five (5) years working experience in the relevant fields


    Entry requirement for English language

    All international students must at least meet one of the following requirements:
    Students must have IELTS Band 5.0 or TOEFL 500. The certifcation should not be more than 2 years from the date test taken and registration of candidature.

    Exceptions:
    Students from countries, i.e. the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, in which English is their native language. Proof: Students must submit certificates from their primary and secondary schools to show that they studied in an English language environment. International students with Bachelor and Masters’ degrees from Malaysian universities, English requirement is not needed.

    Domestic student : RM375 per credit hour + admin fees (Approx. RM19,300)

    International student : RM525 (USD169) per credit hour + admin fees (Approx. RM26,590)

    (OFF CAMPUS)

    Domestic student : RM500 per credit hour + admin fees (Approx. RM24,950)

  • We are currently accepting applications for the MBA program every 2 intakes, February and September. To begin our application, click ‘Apply Online’ at www.ips.ump.edu.my and proceed with all the necessary steps as indicated in the respective pages. All students must register the offered Program on the date being determined by the University. An international student must ensure that a student pass has been approved by the Immigration Department of Malaysia before entering Malaysia. Students who would like to take full time are required to take not less than twelve (12) credits per semester, while part time students are required to take not less than six (6) credits per semester.

    However this program does not cater students who can only attend classes during the weekends. Part time students have to attend both weekdays (night classes) and saturday classes (day) according to the courses taken.
