• Academic requirements: A Bachelor’s degree with Honours or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. Priority is given to candidates who are active in co-curricular activities.

• Applicants must be a local and in their final semester of Bachelor’s degree in Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Academic requirements are: A Bachelor’s degree with Honours or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
• Local students will only be permitted to hold one scholarship of either MyBrain or MRS ‘Jom Sambung Master’. Prior to applying for MRS, applicants must perform an online application for postgraduate enrolment via http://ips.ump.edu.my.
• Priority is given to applicants with active engagement in co-curricular activities, and potential supervisors with active involvement in research and publication.

What is the minimum requirement to register as a MSc student under this faculty?

A student must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) with CPA of at least 2.75/4.00. In any case that a student does not meet this CPA, the student must meet any of the following criteria:

CPA of 2.50 – 2.74

Working experience in related field – 1 year; OR

Grade B for any course related to program that is approved by Senate University; OR

Grade B+ for final year project

CPA of 2.00 – 2.49

Working experience in related field – 5 years; OR

Working experience in related field – 1 year; AND

2 academic publications (journals, not proceedings in related field); OR

Grade B+ for major/elective courses; OR

Grade A- for final year project.

Yes, all international students must at least meet one of the following requirements:

Students must have IELTS Band 5.0 or MUET Band 3 or TOEFL Internet Based Test (IBT) 60 AND the certification should not be more than 2 years from the date test taken and registration of candidature. TOEFL ITP, PBT and CBT are not accepted.

An exemption from the English Language proficiency requirement may be given to the following:

International applicants who do not fulfill the minimum English language requirements but graduated from universities in English speaking countries. The list of English-speaking countries is shown in the IPS website.

However, applicants from these countries must submit evidence of support that have been certified by the previous university, who are:

1. Local and International applicants with Bachelor Degrees from Malaysian universities.
2. International applicants who have graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction is English. However, applicants must submit evidence of support that have been certified by the previous university.

Applicants who have not met the English requirement are given provisional admission. The applicants are given (one) 1-year from the date of registration to fulfill‑the English requirement, failing which, they will be terminated from the program.
